Greg Oliver

Greg  secretly struggled with sex/porn addiction for over 20 years. Unable to stop, control, or manage the addiction by himself, Greg found himself in a place of despair and hopelessness with no prospect for change.

In 2009 God graciously exposed Greg’s addiction, bringing many painful consequences but also hope for a future free from addiction. He began a journey of recovery, supported by a forgiving wife, faithful friends, and qualified therapists.

On this journey he also rediscovered a loving and gracious God. He had known God for most of his life, but now free from the chaos of addiction he could finally experience the joy of his salvation.

As the Director of Awaken (founded with Stacey in 2015), Greg’s desire is to help men, women, and ministry leaders receive the same help and hope to help them navigate through sexual brokenness and live the lives they were created for.

Robert West

After graduating seminary, Bobby and his wife Helen served as missionaries in East Asia, teaching English to university students. Throughout his time of preparing for and serving in ministry, Bobby struggled with hidden sexual addiction.

He began his recovery journey in 2010, and after returning to the U.S. from East Asia, became a registered nurse and began working in health care. It was during this time that Awaken became instrumental in Bobby’s recovery story.

In January 2022, Bobby joined Awaken’s staff to oversee all aspects of our ongoing recovery communities. Bobby and Helen have three sons. In his spare time he enjoys coaching soccer, traveling and spending time with his family.

Stacey Oliver

Stacey grew up as a missionary kid, spending her middle and high-school years in West Africa. She and Greg met in Bible college in 1989 and married in 1992.

Through many years of their marriage, Stacey wrestled with her own struggles with insecurity, fear, and unhealthy relationship dynamics. The constant stress of being the perfect ministry wife and seeking other peoples’ approval was exhausting.

When Greg’s addiction was exposed, Stacey was devastated and deeply traumatized. But at the same time, the experience presented an opportunity for her to see how she had sought to meet her needs through other people and through self-effort, instead of in her relationship with God.

Stacey embraced a process of recovery for herself and eventually began to walk with and encourage other women going through the same betrayal experience. She and Greg co-founded Awaken in 2015 to help sexually broken people live the lives they were created for.
